Ive got a 2009 macbook pro ans a panasonic TH-37PX80B, ive got a mini display to hdmi conector and the picture is fine but the audio doent work, the audio only works when i change the connection to PC (vga) but obviously the picture doesnt work, im connecting the audio into the two audio in ports, L and R, any ideas on how i can get this to work?

Not saying this is your issue just a starting point for you to look @ apple and google.

The panasonic .. connections option in menu check for hdmi sound if the mac supports audio out from hdmi

we had this problem too, we had to buy a new HDMI cable as some dont have the audio pins in them, you need to buy one with all 21 pins in the connector part

it says it works for macbooks after april 2010, but people have reviewed it from september 2009 which is when i bought mine.
