The Dell seems like a better deal to be honest. The Intel processor is better than the AMD. There's less memory but 3GB should be enough, you need a 64-bit OS to make use of 4GB which doesn't come with either laptop anyway.

I have a Dell Studio 17 and I can get about 2.5 to 3 hours battery life on it, with constant web browsing and wireless, and usually with Photoshop open too. It should be better on the 15".

The Studio comes with a graphic card with dedicated memory, whereas the HP shares the main memory. If you're running any graphic application then the Dell one will outperform the HP.

Based on all that I'd prefer the Studio. Also, having looked at the HP, I prefer the design of the Studio.

One think to note is that a lot of the HP 6735s models have matt screens (I don't know if the ebuyer one is one of them) which is unusual for home laptops which usually go for glossy screens. Matt screens are more practical because they don't reflect things like glossy screens do, but some people feel glossy screens have a slightly better picture quality. Most monitors are matt.

I'd lean towards the HP since as it's marketed as a business laptop it's likely to have a reasonable keyboard and I prefer matt screens.

Both are very similar systems though, and if that sort of system suits you then you'll be happy with either.
