I Booked an hotel in Folkestone through I gave Laterooms my card details to secure the booking. I cancelled the booking 2 weeks prior to the arrival date as we no longer needed the rooms. The hotel had already charged £80 to my card, which I disagreed with and contacted Laterooms about. They got in touch with the hotel who said they should not have made the charge and said would refund it with out delay. After 7 days I had no refund. I phoned Laterooms again who phoned the hotel. The hotel said they had made the refund and the guy at Laterooms said I should check my bank account, I had done this already. He said the hotel would probably charge £80 admin fee thereby cancelling out any refund! He left me on hold for 20 minutes and didn't sort anything but said the hotel may have taken a pre-charge of £80. He then went on saying the bank may have charged me £80 for an approval fee. I mentioned fraud and the police and he promptly hung up!

i had a similar problem not with laterooms but booking with hotel directly. I contacted my credit card company and provided them the proof of booking and cancellation terms along with proof of cancellation.
They issued a charge back to hotel and refunded me the money. I would suggest contacting the credit card company and get them to charge back from the hotel /
