Latest Scammer on the email rounds

Received this email which wasn't blocked by any of the spam filters, Here's an extract...

DEAR BELOVED FRIEND. I know that this letter may be a very big surprise to you, I came across your email contact from my personal search and I instructed the doctor here in this hospital to help me email you and I believe that you will be honest to fulfill my final wish before I will die. I am Mrs. Gloria Caldwell from LONDON..

The sender had a legit looking email address ([email protected]yahoo.com)
I checked the email headers and using a reverse IP, tracked down a server in Houston Texas. I sent an abuse email to the providers stating such. However, this doesn't track down the sender. I subscribe to a service called Readnotify.com. I was able to return the email (via this service) once the mail was delivered and read, the email would 'self destruct' itself and return the details via Readnotify.

Can you tell me more on how to decipher email headers?

PS I do know how to read them, but need a breakdown on how to track the originating sender.

Hehe. I purposefully read my spam box on GMail just to laugh at the subject lines. ;-)

Greed and easy money seems to make some people loose their common sense.

Wouldn't quite call an anonymous, free web based e-mail account as being legit, I'd expect any serious e-mail (as in ones not from friends or known contacts) to be using a proper domain.

Why even investigate it?

Select the message, then delete. Anyone stupid enough to get caught out by something like this deserves all they get.
