    Laying down the law-BARKY style!

Youngest daughter(3 in february),is DESPERATE for a rabbit, she also has stopped sleeping in her own bed and is back to crawling in with me and mrs barky every night.

So last night we put up a big poster in her room with a rabbit picture at the top and spaces for 7 stars, every night she stayed in her own bed,she was to get a star, and once she had 7 she would get a rabbit.

Lasted 3 hours, then came into our room crying her eyes out, almost inconsoleable. We asked her what was wrong and she sobbed "now Im not going to get a bunny"

So,being the type of father who doesnt stand for any nonsense from the children, and lays down the law with a firm hand,Im,err,umm-off to the petshop this morning to buy a bunny and a house for it etc.

Im soooo tough with my children!

are you getting the dwarf one - so cute -

cant see the prob of the little ones getting into bed with you though barky - at least your not sending her back to her room crying

as long as she goes to bed in the first place -

wish mine were still little - 16yrs olds take up a lot of room:-D

lol! tough love eh? us parents are soooooo good at it

haha yeah i get into trouble all the time for being a pushover.
Sometimes the bunny isnt just for the kids though...At first you need to pretend to hate the rabbit,,but secretly love it.

You know what comes after a rabbit......a pony!
    good luck

we already have a pony-belongs to 13 year old daughter.

Im thinking of opening a zoo

lol!! Jury is out to whether you're causing more damage than good......... Trouble is none of us will know for at least 20yrs!

I hope she takes care of Fluffytail.... herself!!

    P.S I'm just the same!

Now you can threaten to KILL it if she gets out of bed!

No really, Just chill out about the bed thing. I know its a nuisance at the mo but it will just sort it self out on its own. the dwarf rabbits are so cute she is going to love it. the more it gets handled the better.
I remember my daughter when she was very young crying because I told her to stay in bed because we were having a lie-in. She thought i said lion! she said through her tears " oh not a lion cant we have a bunny?"

Aah you know what comes next after a pony, a boyfriend!

Fab dad:) You do realise you'll end up looking after it! My son begged for a gerbil, ended up with three cos he couldn't make up his mind in the shop, he lost interest after a week and care fell to mummy, they were the longest living gerbils ever!

LOL not just me who is a soft ar*e then!!

Like it's already been said the sleeping in own bed should sort itself out on it's own. My little boy slept in bed with me from birth till about 2 &1/2 then slept through like a dream for about 6 months, then after having my little girl the nightmare began. For about 2 months he would be up for hours in the night because he was 'scared of monsters' or 'my leg hurts' or any excuse he could think of.

He is now 3yrs 3 months and is back to sleeping through in his own bed (99% of the time anyway) but wakes up between 5am and 6.30 am (bad times). I think this is mostly because my little girl wakes him up sometimes though.

I can't wait till he is a teenager wanting to stay in bed till afternoon lol!! I haven't had a full nights sleep since being pregnant with my 3yr old so I need the sleep badly lol!!

    Nice one Barky :giggle:

Why didnt you just wait another week until xmas? She has you wrapped round her little finger!
