If you have to get one from Argos I'd recommend the Sony, ]This One

I've got the 40" version and it's supurb, Defo be better than the Acoustic Sounds model anyway.

I have the 32" Sony, great TV. If you can get a refund from Argos and you have a Richer Sounds nearby give them a call on the off chance they have one in or are expecting any and check the price - they had them on sale for £299 which was an absolute steal.

Contrast ratio's etc can be a bit mis-leading. The Sony is great for the money and the Sammy aint bad either. When RS had them both for the same price the Sony was a clear winner & I'd probably still pay the extra for it. The picture via a half decent dvd player is fantastic. I don't have my Sky HD hooked up to it but I'd imagine that also provides a very clear picture. Don't worry about it not being 1080p. At 32" it isn't going to make any difference. Also it may not be 100mhz but at the price it isn't going to be and I haven't had any motion blur on sports.

It really depends on how cheap you can get the Sony and then weigh up the pro's and con's. If you have a RS near you and they have the Sammy in stock then go to a shop that has both in and take a look then decide. If you decide on the Sammy and RS and John Lewis have it then buy it at JL & get a free 5 yr guarantee.

No the sammy isn't as good. This one is a little more expensive at £329 but is well regarded and if the Sony can't be bought at a reasonable price this sammy would be worth the extra £30 over the cheaper one.
