lead to link laptop to tv for divx


i want a lead so i can watch my laptop on the telly - its so i can watch some old items i compressed as divx - when i had my pc - since the pc has died and i dont like watching things on the laptop

its a dell laptop - new in last year

the tv only has scart and the 3 plugs - if you know what i mean

What outputs does the laptop have though? I know mine has S-Video and DVI, but then it is a dedicated ATI video card...

I did the same just a couple of weeks ago. You are most likely to need an S-Video cable. You will need to check the S-Video connector on your laptop. It should take a 4 or 7 pin connector if i remember correctly for a dell. It looks like a PS2 mouse connector if you're not sure. The cable is readily available from ebay (UK dealers, not Hong Kong ones) and i got one for £2 plus postage. You will need an S-Video to composite cable, to plug into the yellow connector on your tv for video, and a jack plug to left and right composite to plug into the red and white audio connectors on your tv.
