As lots of people will be having roast turkey next Sunday, there's going to be a lot of left over turkey. What are your favourite ways of using up the bird?

Looking for ideas other than turkey curry!

I love cold turkey so i dont eat much of it on christmas day when it is hot but wait for the second day when i can eat it cold. I remember one year, my mum bought such a huge turkey which no one wanted the second day except me and as i was only little, it took me a whole week to finish it X)

Have lamb or beef ?
wrap it in bacon and reheat in the oven(not the microwave)
with some more roasties

I'd take that skin off! Assuming that's stuffing at the top oO . Bit of cranberry sauce I'd add. Yum X)

Without fail it has to be devilled turkey. We have eaten this every year since my childhood. I look forward to it more than the actual Christmas meal.

Turkey stuffing and cranberry sauce sandwiches. On thick fresh crusty bread with a generous spreading of good butter. Mouth is watering at the thought!

What IS devilled turkey? Is it like devilled eggs involving mincing it up with mayo?

Just slice it cold and get some good pickles and chutney, to be honest I don't like trying to make turkey into another meal, just enjoy it cold

I don't like turkey but the following were inflicted upon me during childhood, and are apparently nice;

Cold turkey with bubble and squeak
Cold turkey sandwiches
Turkey casserole
Turkey curry
Turkey pasta
Turkey soup using stock made from the carcass, usually with the ham bones and veggies etc.

sickly sweet

It's like you've put the word 'turkey' in front of every meal idea

I believe it's an old Victorian dish. Devilled due to the spicy nature of the the brown meat. You cook the brown and white meat separately, the brown gets the spicy treatment and the white is cooked in cream to counter the heat.

How do you make it?

The brown meat is marinated in Worcester sauce (the more, the better!) and mustard, with a few other seasonings. Then quickly cooked by frying or grilling.
The white meat is pulled and gently cooked in double cream, butter and seasoning. We sometimes add mushrooms.
Usually serve it with other leftovers, but it's great with rice.

I eat turkey chilli all the time. Not tried it with left over turkey, but I am sure you could make something work

turkey sandwiches for tea then chuck it away as we go visiting on boxing day

We deliberately cook extra of everything on Xmas day and then for the next two days we have the vegetables as bubble and squeak with cold turkey and all the trimmings, pigs in blankets, stuffing balls, Yorkshire puddings and gravy. We love it.
