Length of time to pay for a LED Light bulb

Wondering if my calulations are correct.

LED Light bulb cost's £2.60
Current Light bulbs 60W
LED Light Bulb 9W
Diffrence 51W

0.14p Per KWH (1000W)

2.60/0.14= 18.5.... = how many Kwh in cost of LED bulb

18,500 Watts , £2.60

18,500/51 = Hours needed to break even = 362 hours

Roughly 5 hours per day winter I'd say = 362/5 = 72 days to break even.

Pretty sure my logic of math is wrong here (I've round up)

Yes, your calculation is correct.

...but somewhat odd considering the level of English used to describe the calculation.

Nice one, my father will usually stick on 6 lamps and 5 lights on for most of the evening

Will give these a go, I'm sure he will moan that they are too white or something (just change)

I bought 10 of these recently and have no complaints, a few pence more expensive but slightly brighter.

I have them in lamps and they seem fine. Why not order a few bright ones and a few of the dimmer ones. Obviously make sure you get the right type: Screw in or BC.

To avoid "too white" make sure you pick "warm white" models, and maybe 2700k in preference to 3000k

Cheers will take a look cutrent ones are very orange out of curiosity do they make orange looking leds
plus some cheap led bulbs dont last very long (due to crap power supplies, they have circuitry hidden inside them), so maybe look at reviews and spend a bit more to get reliable makes
