Lenovo Legion 5P Laptop AMD Ryzen 7 4800H Anyone installed 32Gb or over in memory?

Lenovo Legion 5P 15ARH05H Laptop AMD Ryzen 7 4800H Part no 82GU0000UK

I bought this laptop back in 2020 to use with SQL databases and general data analysis tools data like Pandas. No gaming. But some of the datasets are pretty large (40 million rows) so I was looking to upgrade the ram from the current 16Gb (2 x 8Gb)

Has anyone installed 32Gb or over in memory and was it stable?

Originally the Lenovo specs said you could have a max 16gb of ram (2 x8Gb ) in the laptops 2 slots.

But Crucial says you can go to 32Gb (2 x 16Gb) of DDR4 3200 CL22 memory....

Generally Ive read elsewhere that the R7 4800H can support up to 64Gb of ram and in this hotukdeals thread user @randomneity says he had that working.

Bit specialist I know but Id be grateful for any insights...

Thanks Mark

generally speaking, you should be able to run high capacities.
I did it on a Dell laptop that apparently had a 2x16 limit
    pushed it to 2x32.
obviously, there's no guarantee that it will work.
so I'd suggest that you take a punt with CEX maybe
or Amazon and return if it doesn't work

You might not need to upgrade. Why don't you see how much RAM you're using in the first place (right click on taskbar/Task Manager/Performance/Memory). (edited)

If you buy from Cruical, then it's guaranteed to work so you can't lose.

I have the same laptop with 32GB installed and it's been perfectly fine.

    I got the 32GB (2 x 16GB) kit from Crucial:

    Thanks for that.

I have a choice of your Crucial kit or taking a punt on the larger 64Gb (2 x 32GB) Cricial kit with the same specs.

Crucials detection tool / manual lookup only goes up to your 32Gb kit ....so anything above that is ...on my own head.

I am the one that mentioned that I had installed 2x32gb in my legion and can confirm that everything has worked flawlessly so far. Admittedly, I've probably not pushed the ram to 100% usage but have gone above 40gb ram usage with VMs and such.

I installed (from Crucial Store on Amazon)
    Crucial 64gb kit (2x32gb) ddr4 3200mhz (or 2933mhz or 2666mhz) laptop memory CT2K32G4SFD832A (edited)
