    Lenovo P2 vs Xiaomi Mi5

Trying to decide on a dual sim phone and have narrowed it down to the Lenovo P2 and the Xiaomi Mi5 (both around £200 - if the Oneplus 3 was in that price range it would also be in my shortlist). Does anyone have any recommendations to which one is the better one?

I haven't used both phones but the battery life in my P2 is ridiculously good. Lasts 3x longer than my old Moto G.

How are you finding the camera?

Do these phones allow you to have one SIM running at 4g and one at 3g? reason i ask is because my 2nd sim is on Three and that wont run on 2G

Xiaomi Mi5 is the superior phone because it has a 2016 flagship CPU the SD820. The Lenovo P2 has the SD625 which is a mid range CPU. If I was going to buy a dual sim phone I would look at the Lenovo ZUK Z2 or the Xiaomi Redmi Note Pro 3.

if u buy a mi5 I'd recommend u spend a little more and purchase the mi5s as the camera, build, processor, battery, antenna are all better and the price isn't too different.

There seem to be so many xiaomi models, totally confusing The redmi note 4 pro looks good as well

The Redmi Note 4 Pro isn't much of an upgrade to the Redmi Note Pro 3. It has an inferior camera + I would choose Qualcomm SD over Mediatek any day of the week.

I'd like to just point out that the mi5s has the exact same camera sensor as the Google pixel. you could expect amazing picture quality.

Thanks for the suggestion, looks like it's around £30 more than the Mi5, I might be able to persuade myself to add that to my budget

The Pixel camera quality is more down to Google's proprietary image processing than anything.

The CPU doesn't make anything a superior phone just FYI. There are other factors in making a superior phone. The Snapdragon 625 has excellent power management - in fact it is used in the upcoming Blackberry KeyONE. You can't really say something is a superior phone just based on its CPU spec. I have to also say that I own both a P2 and an S7 Edge and the P2 is smoother and slicker in general operation. The S7E runs the supposedly superior Snapdragon 820 but I think it goes to show that often the performance of a phone is down to the firmware and software optimisations introduced by the manufacturer.

Top end phones will have top end spec's i.e top end CPU i.e SD820. If one phone has SD820 and the other SD625 then the phone with the SD820 IS SUPERIOR. That's why you get budget phones with SD4xx, mid range phones with SD615-625 and flagship phone 8xx-820..821... If you got rid of touchwiz and put pure Android on the S7 it would be the best phone on the planet right now. Please don't come on here comparing mid range phone with flagship spec phone.

A CPU alone doesn't make a device better - a device is the sum of its parts, and strictly speaking a 'flagship' is the leading phone in the range of a manufacturer and isn't specifically tied to specs.

The battery on the P2 is significantly larger. This is a spec, and it's a better spec.

We could debate all day but I'll leave you to it as I don't really want to get into a geeky debate about Antutu scores making everyone's life better.

CPU is the most important component on any device be it in a phone,tablet,PC/laptop etc etc. Anyone tech savvy will tell you that. Apart from the battery the Xiaomi Mi5 trumps the Lenovo P2 in all departments. I think the Xiaomi vs Lenovo P2 is an unfair mismatch like a middleweight vs cruiserweight.

Definitely the most important thing of all for sure. More important than life itself, maybe.

Issue with the Mi5 is no Band 20 support so that's no 4G on O2 / Tesco / Giffgaff and no SuperVoice on Three.
