Letter received about doing 62mph in 50mph zone

They want details of who was driving and their licence details.
It does not say I need to pay any penalty in this letter.

Has anyone received something similar ? What happens from here on ?

    Thanks

    tut tut!

ull get fine and points even though it dont mention i think if you were 2% over the speed limit then they would offer u a course

you may well receive one once you submit details...

    at least, you've been doing 7mph over the limit, as 50 + 10% = 55 - 62 = 7mph!

you will probably get 3 points, and a £30/60 fine. Be honest and own up if you were driving. telling lies will only get you into more trouble :whistling:

Request photo evidence of the incident!:thumbsup:

You, the registered keeper of the car, have been notified of speeding. If it was you, you need to complete paperwork and return. If it wasn't you, fill in the section saying who WAS driving and return to them.

it's the law to provide details of who was driving.

if the registered keeper doesn't provide the info - they get the fine + points etc.

it's a well established thing - nowt you can do about it.

I had a letter saying I had been doing 38 in a 40.... resulted in the option of me being able to pay £60, and attend a Speed Workshop, and incur no points............... or not attend, pay £60 (I think) and have 3 points added to my licence.

Have a clean licence, so was happy to be given the chance to go the workshop.

Worth phoning and asking what options u have.

i dont intend to cover up any facts. I understand it is all legal requirements.
Was just wondering what will happen from here.

How long do the points stay on your licence ?

How long will the penalty points stay on my licence?

Penalty points are valid for a period of 3 years, but cannot be removed from your licence until 4 years have elapsed.

This section contains general information only. Always consult a solicitor for more specific advice.

me think yellow is still tiddled- lol

points last three years, though you can't have them removed from your licence until four years has passed. insurance companies usually ask if you've any points in last five years, though one speeding conviction is unlikely to alarm them

i think it's likely you'll be offered a speed awareness course under these circumstances.

course is only available for doing a max of 39 in a 30, says so on the "safety" cam website

I've been done for 36 in a 30 and 47 in a 40. Both mboile cameras, never been offered a course instead of points.
You can request photgrapic evidence, and proof of calibration of equipment (which must be less than 12 months old), and hope they've slipped up somewhere there end.

    good point

dont they only have 10 days or something to get the ticket to you?

There's this speed camera near where I work and it's flashed me 3 times during the past year and (touch wood) I've never had a ticket. The camera along a 30mph stretch of road and I've set it off twice doing 38ish (going by the car speedometer). The other time an emergency vehicle overtook me and it flashed while I was slap bang in the middle of the white lines.

I never intend on setting it off, just sometimes my mind is on other things and I forget it's a 30, not a 40. I have found that going through at 35 doesn't cause it to flash me. Anyone else tried higher?
