Don't expect Cisco quality from Linksys routers.

There are numerous different versions of this particular router, you'd want old stock if you wanted to get the most out of it but you're more than likely going to get new stock which is quite different.

I have never owned this model I'm just pointing out that the newest versions of this router have less potential than the units sold a few years back.

You can't rely on old reviews as they are based on the old units which differ greatly from the one you'd receive if you bought this now.

Change the review filter to "Most recent first", looks fairly positive.

I got it for around a year and a half and it seems fine to me, but it's the only router i've ever even looked at so my opinion is not really relevant.

The only problem I had was with my irc connection freezing from time to time when my girls were msn'ing or whatever upstairs, but I found a setting via google that fixed it... set 'WLM' to port '1863' in 'port triggering' ,note not 'port forwarding' .. Other than that it hasn't missed a beat. I'm pleased with it and it was ultra simple to set up, literally run the disc and plug and go.

I use the mac filtering option for my security, but it has all the standard protocols wma1+2/wep ect.
