    Linx Tablet Confusion

I'm slightly confused about these different versions of the Linx tablet, I'm basically looking for one to do a bit of browsing and some Xbox gaming (will be streaming from console to tablet)
I can't seem to find one that has 4GB Ram, higher than 1.5ghz processor and the option for 5ghz wifi.
Don't want to spend too much if possible.
Any help would be great, thanks

AFAIK the older Linx tablets only have 2GB RAM and 2.4 Ghz WiFi

this is certainly the case for my Linx 1010B

the new 10V64 has what you want but is over £200!

I haven't heard of them, do they have decent specs?

Pretty good specs. We have the hi8 running android and it's extremely quick. hi10 destroys the hi8 on specs.

Processor speed 1.44Ghz is that as high as you can get?

Processor speed is not the be all and end all when it comes to performance. 10-15 years ago it was a very good performance metric but these days with multi core processors and the various different architectures of mobile device chips it is literally of no use in working out what is a better performing device. Is it that you've seen a requirement for 1.5ghz somewhere?

I was reading about Xbox streaming and it says that at least you would need 2GB Ram and 1.5GHz

To be honest, anything around the 1.5Ghz mark will do for the job. As if you look around, you'll quickly find that tablets from 6 or 7 years ago had 1.5GHz processors too but will not be up to the job (I've got an old one with a 1.6 processor and it's as slow as hell). So long as you pick a current model like the Linx 10V64 then the processor is going to be a much more minor consideration. It's really to avoid people who have old hardware that this applies, modern devices as in this years current models and possibly some last year models will all manage to do the home streaming.

As you are clearly looking at buying a new device then I'd focus on the 4GB of RAM and dual band wifi requirements you've set and just ensure you get something close to the 1.5GHz but that so long as it's not a cheap tablet that it should be more than capable of doing what you want.

Check youtube the hi8 works fine with it so the hi10 shouldn't have any issues.

I was going to pick up that Linx 10V64 but it doesn't have the dual band wifi sadly.

My daughter can stream the Xbox one to her lynx 1010b no problem.

I've picked this one up from a friend and it seems to be working great so far, quite like the controller as well!

I've still got my original Linx 10 from a couple of years ago. It's got Win 8.1 and I won't bother with upgrading to Win 10 as it's working fine as it is. It came with Microsoft Office for one year so I just uninstalled it when it expired and put my own favourite Libre Office on instead: libreoffice.org/
