Littlun breaks up from school today and in luuuve

    Banned
Last day at school today for my littlun and he's just asked if his girlfriend can stay over.

He is just 12 and obviously if it was allowed, she'd be in the spare bedroom.

He was telling me about how he defended her today in class. Apparently the school often mixes some of their special needs kids into a more ability related class. He was sitting with his girlfriend and he said this 16 year old was sitting behind him making a nuisance of himself and trying to hit on his girlfriend. He said the kid was quite ugly and his girlfriend told him where to go, but started threatening him. My littlun stood up to him and this kid just started crying. Thinking about it, I have seen this kid at the school. He's quite a fast runner and have seen other kids running after him. (I think these kids should get better supervision.)

Anyway, should I allow him to have his girlfriend stay over, or is it just too young? He has been seeing her since the start of term, but I'm just not convinced its a wise thing to do.

Sure, why not as long as they are supervised and in different rooms. When we were kids we always had slumber parties and mixed sex ones.

    Hide the alcohol though :whistling:

WAY too young. I was always discouraged to have aboyfriends until was 16. which i did. Think prob you may find is that if they are still together in 3/4 years time (or earlier maybe) things are bound to progress.... if you know what i mean. Why can't kids just stay as kids!!!!

IMHO there 12...nowt's gonna happen, but best to speak to the girls parents too...see what they think...

personally I would say yes IF they were gonna be under my supervision at all times and DEFO seperate rooms....

    HOWEVER

If it was my little girl...not a ******* chance I would let it happen....

However I aint got kids so what do I know....your a wise man Guv, go with your gut instinct:thumbsup:

sleepovers with group of friends sounds fab-can you not wait and let him have 'group' of mixed sex friends to sleep over at some point.

i think you should allow it as long as you keep them in seperate rooms. thats if her parents allow it coz dads are normally more protective of their daughters. i wanted to stay in my bfs when i was 16 and my dad wouldn't allow it so i asked my mum instead :w00t: lol

Yeh, they've not even been asked yet - and probably wouldn't approve. I know I'd be quite protective if I had a daughter. There's so many weirdos out there!

Have to laugh though. Quite impressed at him sticking up for her against the older child though.

My daughter is 11 and there is no way she would be allowed to stay at a boys house, her dad has already told her no bf's till she's at least 21 :giggle:

When she does get i bf i just hope he is as protective as your son guv, he sounds like a lovely lad and you should be very proud

my dad wasn't around but mum was a really chilled parent, told us the birds and the bees at an early age........let us find our feet but she was and still is protective, love her to death and she has made me the strong, independent woman I am today:)

was allowed out clubbing from an early age (13) with my brothers older girlfriends so got up to loads :whistling: but nothing too illegal

My daughter asked for her FIRST REAL BF to come and stay for half term. This mortified me! My little girl is growing up! ( she is nearly 16) Hes travelling all the way from plymouth on a train to come and stay. I have agreed under conditions...
    a) my daughter will be sleeping at a seperate house. ( aka my mothers)
    b) Im off for the week !
    C) I might have been bang out of order BUT before i agreed to this i checked my daughters messages on her mobile phone. YEP shocking i know BUT i rememberd what it was like being her age! I read both there messages back and forth and not ONE gave me any concern. Infact the opposite.
Ok feel free to hit me with * you shouldnt have checked her phone* but i will always reply, shes my daughter and i will anything to protect her.

I have agreed to this as i DO trust my daughter ( shes nothing like i was at her age, thank god)
Her bf, doesnt drink, smoke or swear. Hes been very well brough up and VERY respectful.

I dont see anything wrong in your 12yr old having this sleepover etc, just keep checking. I think OUR fear as parents and society antics can make us OTT! ( which i am)

My daughter and I have frank and open talks regarding the S word, we talk about everything. Shes got a good head on her and she knows not to abuse my trust or else.

I dont think at 12 you got anything to worry about guv.... but dnt quote me on it lol.

I think i'd let them have their sleepover, at their age it should all be innocent enough, and as long as they sleep in seperate rooms there's not much to worry about.
