    Liverpool Stag Weekend

    Hi All.

Looking to plan my friends stag weekend in Liverpool 1st September to 3rd September.

We want 2 nights hotel in the city centre, comedy night on the Friday night and Go Karting some time on the Sat.

Someone has a quote from a company that arrange these sort of things for £150 a person.

I reckon more like £110 if I do it myself.

We are travelling up by car so we don't need travel.

Any help with either area and any local knowlendge for the Karting/Comedy club would be greatly appreciated.

    Ta!!

Thanks for that, good staring point.

Now to convince the others on the Formula1!!!

I literally have just come back from a stag weekend (as it happens in Barcelona) with Go Karting. IT WAS AWESOME.

£275 all in though, for accomodation, food and drink all paid for.

If you want to go "Go-Karting" around Liverpool - I can recommend 2 places.

    1. Warrington - they have a HUGE indoor go-kart track, but it is quite expensive (it's about £500 per car if you want to do the big race, but you are there for several hours and its THE LARGEST, LONGEST RUNNING, INDOOR KARTING CIRCUIT IN THE U.K.!!)

    2. Burscough (Not far from Liverpool, about 10 mins away from Kirkby) - This is a great track with lap timings, qualifyers etc

    I think it's £25 per person for 30 laps (5 warm up, 5 qualifying & 20 lap race), and a max of 15 people (i think).

Have a look HERE for the comedy club !

Don't forget to visit Angels lap dancing bar !

oh yea - lots of paintballing places around too (ps - don't stay in the Formula1 - it is a dive !!!)

    Thanks and thanks!

Any more ideas on a hotel.

If the F1 is a dive then should try to find another!

Does it have to be centrally located in Liverpool ?

The only hotel I have stayed in within Liverpool is the Crown Plaza (which is fantastic by the way). It's situated on the Dock, but it is pricey !!

The Holiday Inn has availability on the dates you need, thats around £60-£70 p/n for a double/twin room

ps - you will probably be to pi$$ed to notice anyway, and it's only to get your head down, so you "may" want to consider the F1 ?

    That is true!

Will have to see what the others reckon to the F1!

For a comedy night there's also the Rawhide Comedy Club, right in the City Centre -

Entrance on a Thursdsay is only £5(no good for your stag weekend I know) normally £12 Friday/Sat night, unless you can find a promotion code for discounts on web bookings

I would certainly reconsider the F1, £10 per person in a triple room will more than compensate for the lack of luxuries, there's also free parking at the site which'll save you another tenner a day. And it's also staggering distance from the city centre pubs and clubs areas, you'd walk further for a taxi.

Once again Priceline is offering Liverpool as a selected city. Why not try £40 / £50 per room for a four start room. With priceline you are only paying for the room and as all rooms accomodate 2 people £25 per person per night is'nt bad for the 4 start option. Happy bidding, no winnning bid nothing lost! (dont book individual rooms you have to make it one complete booking or you run the risk of being in different hotels)

    Thanks for your help everyone.

I have found that I can book family rooms at Travelodge Liverpool docks for £51 a room (sleeps 3).

Anyone know if there is a bar (don;t think there is at the hotel) at the hotel. Or if its situated next to a pub which would be just as good.

    Thanks

Be aware that there's not much of anything round by the Docks Travelodge, nearest pub is probably the Baltic Fleet opposite the Albert Dock, which is maybe a mile away, and very open to the elements if your walking. There is a run down looking pub (Seven Steps?) on Sefton Street, but I'm not sure if it's shut down or not.

Try the Dolby Hotel or the Campanile Hotel which are both a little closer to the City centre, and are right opposite the Baltic Fleet pub, both have free car parking.
