Liverpool Victoria buildings and contents insurance - are they good?

I just got an AMAZING quote from them, £450 below the renewal quote I received from The AA.
Only £185 with added extras included in this, like legal and personal cover up to £4000 and other things such as garden and garage cover. Basically, it seems too good to be true.
Has anyone had any claims with them or anything to say about them?

i have never clamed off them but did once have a home contents policy with them and they where quite expensive so make sure you have everything covered

It seems as though everything is covered. I spoke to one of the online advisors who was really helpful and it even covers my shotgun, stuff in my garage and up to £70,000 contents insurance. I'm just completely taken aback by the quote, it's only £100 excess, other places which are £400 more expensive have £150 - £250 excesses!

Hehe, and the big barking guard dogs! I'm still wanting to know if anyone has made a claim with them and how good they were. There's no point in cheapo insurance if they don't pay out.
I recently got car insurance with them, due to a fantastic quote, but taking more care over my home buildings and contents insurance. My personal things have more value to me and the family than a car. Plus it really seems just too good to be true, £185 for it all.

I have a buildings policy only and paid a very competitive price. I haven't claimed so can't comment there - check quidco and othersites as they were offering cashback when I purchased back in Oct

It's £45 quidco, same on topcashback. Makes it even more fantastic value! But it's only good value if it's decent cover, which it appears to be. Just a shame noone seems to know what the customer servies and claims department is like.

Anyone up tonight who has made a claim from them and can comment on their customer services? Thanks.

I've been with them for a couple of years. I tried to claim on a leaking roof, and although their customer service was excellent (very quick to return calls, and get in touch with appropriate departments etc) .. it wasn't considered an emergency, even though the ceiling had come in!!! This happened over a weekend, so we ended up doing the work ourselves so I cancelled the claim. Although I haven't claimed, it has been put down as an 'incident' but hasn't affected renewal price. Hope this helps.
