    Lloyds TSB email scam

    I don't know if this is a new one but just wanted to let people know.
    I thought it was a scam but it still had me worried until I rang my bank.

    These are getting slightly more convincing as the scammers learn better English! Although this guy only knows American English

    I've had this one 3 times!!! :roll:

    NEVER EVER NEVER EVER use any link from any email claiming to be from your bank. I work for one of the big four and we would never email you to say something like this - why would keying in answers to a few security questions "restore" your account access. We would most likely write to you or call you.

    In saying that, we probably wouldn't bother to do either of those, we'd just wait for you to call us if there was a problem - nothing to do with laziness - it's just that (no offence intended) you (a generic you) are not our only customer and you are not our most important customer - we have millions of them, and trying to find all the people affected by a certain issue, never mind contacting them all one-by-one, would be a monumental task and banks have not got the resources to do that.

    Anyway, the fraudsters who have "accessed your account" have already got your sign-on, password and security question answers, so why would you entering them restore your access???

    had loads of these, mostly from banks i have never dealt with.

    Scams can only get better......

    I had a similar one from paypal this morning
    Threatening to suspend my account if i didnt click the link and update my payment methods.
