    Local Loop Unbundling (LLU)

Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a plan for this?

It's where your local telephone exchange is opened up to competitor suppliers apart from BT.

Prompted by another spate of cheap broadband deals that I can't bl00dy well use!

Thanks both, have checked this. I appear to be surrounded by LLU exchanges, but mine isn't. How do I find out if there are any actual plans to do so at mine, and when? That doesn't appear to be on SamKnows

Any updates regarding the exchange are usually listed on the SamKnows website Under the Exchange info page, so if its not listed I wouldn't expect to be unbundled anytime soon.

Really annoying isn't it! The likes of Orange and Sky will let you have their broadband but will charge you an extra £10-£15 for going through an unbundled exchange....yeah thanks grrrrrr

If it's not on samknows, then who knows?

It's there on other exchanges which are being 'upgraded', so maybe yours isn't being done

I mean they are (ISPs) not you kind people....

think the problem is no one knows until the isp decides to do it and then they just do it,.
you would have to contact each of the providers to see if they have any plans to do so.

Or contact Openreach...see if they have plans to do it because it would be them that do.
