    logbook

hi all. hope you are having a good day. I have a question about logbooks. I want to apply for a log book and I am also aware that they take up to 4-6 weeks to arrive. has anyone ever applies for 1 and received it any quicker than the specified tone scale. thanx.

means it can take anytime between a couple of days and 6 weeks. also depends if there has been a change of keeper as they then write to the old keeper to confirm the request

    why the urgency?

I'm guessing you been a log book for a car?
And not a random book telling you about the best logs available
last few cars I did it for took roughly 2 weeks

I bought an Escort Rs Turbo around 2004 and the log book never came. So rang the DVLA they needed the reg, miles, vin number and engine number so they could issue me a new one, came pretty quick actually and that was back then when they were slow.
Have you lost the book or never given one?

Sometimes it can take a week, I had to wait 8 weeks once for some strange reason, But most within 2 weeks.

if you have the green bit you can do online as new keeper and its free and takes about 3 days to arrive

firstly u haven't told us the reason is it because u have lost urs or u have just bought a new car or u want switch over the names address etc. usually it comes back within 2 weeks for most things like when u buy a car or for a name change etc. I do believe for lost or a change In circumstances such as a lpg conversion takes a bit longer without the reason can't really tell u.

Just applied for a V5C assume this is what you mean. It cost £25 as the previous one was mislaid or destroyed in error and arrived within 6 working days. This may have been quicker than normal as was possibly done through their sensitive care department due to my father passing away. The cheque still hasn't been debited from my account and was all done through standard royal mail post. HTH.

hi sorry for your loss. I am wanting to tax my car but haven't received the log book. I wasn't given a green slip as the original logbook had been destroyed as the car is a accident repair.

mine took about a week to come through

you can tax the car using the V62 which you send off to apply for a new logbook, id recommend doing it at the post office so you can do it all in one go
