We are going to London on Easter sunday and at time of booking never realised as me and dates don't mix lol. Anyhow we got a good deal on train and hotel so cant complain.

What exactly will be closed on Sunday? Will tube and most attractions be open still? What about places to eat etc.

I know large stores will be closed sunday but what else?

Done a bit of research and from all I can see most attractions will be open as normal. Only the largest stores will be closed sunday. We will be doing the usual I suppose, museums etc.

There some disruptions on tube due t engineerig works, but depends where you going, however you just make a different route or take the bus replacment services they sometimes put on.I'm going there tomorrow and my tube journey be more than double the time it should be to where I'm going.I not keen messing about getting on and off buses.

Yeah thats pretty normal at times like this, infact it was similar on my last visit. I thought about getting an oyster card for me and the wife but the 3 quid each deposit put me off and will just stick to day travel cards. It will all be within zone 1 and 2 anyhow.

How does it work for my lad? Do you just let kids through when you open the gate with your ticket since its free for them?

Well sometimes there like wider gates at the end of the normal gates you put your ticket through, for the gate to open. They have wide openings for people to get through with luggage and children in buggies etc, sometimes they just normal gates that are manned and you show you ticket and go through. Varies from tube station to what the gates are like.
If I'm not bulked up with anything else and I had a toddler with no pushchair I would just carry them through as I went through.
My son will have a ticket as he almost 9 ,we got a family railcard which gives us discounts on our fares.
I'm feeling bit ajitated actually about going tomorrow and the longer tube journey,it be way easier if the lines were on as normal as I done the normal straight forward route a fair few times in past. I think it's cos i'm worried we will miss the show we going see.

There is info on the London Underground site to whats closed, partially closed etc,its quite a maze to understand,my partner worked out my route yesterday but I been on phone earlier to confirm he is correct, the helpine is open 24hrs a day so useful.

When we go for a few days,I don't aways bother with tube tickets and walk everywhere.
My partner terrible for chest infections he if uses the underground a lot for 2 or more days in a row so we try to avoid it.Many times walked from Charing X to London Zoo with help of a map, come to think of it I know my way round pretty well.
