    London for Vegetarians...

Any tips for a restaurant in Central London with a good range of veggie options? Taking the wife for dinner a week on Monday and she's a vegetarian so want somewhere with a lot of choice for her.

Needs some good carnivorous options too though please!

Sorry, meant to put this in Ask!

depends on your budget . but Indian food is always a good choice for both vegetarian & carnivore options .
maybe look at Dishoom or Benares not your typical Indian restaurant experience

Tell her to take sandwiches and go and have a steak

Ooh, that one has potential - thanks.

Titbits on Heddon st, just off Regent st is vege only - you pay for the food based on weight.

Tons of places in London and the above site should help find good ones nearby.

Sorry, missed that one, will take a look.

Best bet is to have a look at some menus online. Most good restaurants nowadays will hve a good selection for awkwa oops i mean vegetarian people lol. Joking aside ive actually come to like a lot of vegetarian food but i doubt i could do without my steaks lol

Ottolenghi is almost known as a veggie specialist, so much so that sometimes people assume his restaurants are exclusively veggie
    Mildred's is a veggie restaurant.
Ella Woodward has a deli that also sells meat themaedeli.com
and Lily Simpson is supposedly another exciting veggie cook detoxkitchen.co.uk/deli
Wagamama was voted best place to eat out for veggies and obviously has meat, but as it's a national chain may be something you already get at home
most of the feedback i've heard is that meat eaters have been more than satisfied with the veggie options at these places

I went to a Angus Steak Resturant and the steak was yummy (one by Picadilly)

    Edit

Woops, i did not spot the vegitarian bit my bad

If you can bear no meat then I'd recommend Mildred's - no booking available though.
Otherwise you could try the new "The Gate" restaurant (been to the Hammersmith one which is great but a new one has opened in Marylebone).
Vanilla Black is supposed to be very nice, not been there though.

Or if you insist on some meat, then I'd recommend one of the Polpo chain places. Really nice.
Someone's already mentioned Ottolenghi/Nopi places which are of course very good.

Oh, if you can get a a reservation and want to impress then try Clos Maggiore.

If you want a good steak then I'm told Hawksmoor is the place to go.
