London Trip - Need help with planning fun!!

My hubby has decided to take myself and the 2 kids (8 and 9) to London for my birthday weekend - nice you may think - but no this is to make him feel a little less guilty about watching Torquay in Wembley on 17th!!

I have booked to stay at a Travelodge near Wembey. I hope to go to a show (no idea which one though), London Eye, Dungeons (any advice on how scary they are?) and a museum. Please - any advice on where's best to go with kids and what show to see would be gratefully recieved and any good price sites. Thank you.

If they love scary things, don't give it a second thought. Take them to the London Dungeon.

If they're boys and into aeroplanes, the Royal Air Force Museum in Hendon, where the old Hendon aerodrome used to be is a good bet.

The old standards like the Science Museum in Kensington in Exhibition Road are also worth considering.

The London Dungeon was very fun but (as most places) expect a very long queue. That said they usurally put entertainers on for the queue. Once your in you should find the whole experience takes about 2 hours and includes a couple of small rides.
Obviously the nature of the place may scare some children and when I was there a couple of children didnt like the long periods in the dark but if you think they would be ok with it and you dont mind standing for a while then its fun, well organised and everyone seems to be there to make your time a happy one. Very well recommended.

oh yes I dont know of any at the moment but look for 2 for 1 offers as they are sometimes about. If not I would still pay full price for it.

Better still, make him take the kids to scary things and pay for you to go The Sanctuary in Covent Garden. My wife loves that place. ]http//ww…htm

You should buy the fast track tickets for the attractions so that you don't have to stand in long boring queues for ages.
They will love the Natural history museum there's plenty for them to see and interact and its free entry. You could walk along the south bank from the London eye and enjoy all the
Street entertainers. I hope you all have a great day in London.

Look out for two for the price of one tickets from the railway operators - this includes shows.

You can also get some bargain price tickets for shows at lastminute.com - often including dinner.

I went to the London Dungeon with my hubby and was standing in the queue waiting to pay and realised someone was by me, not really noticing them. My hubby nodded at me, to turn round or move so I turned to apologise thinking I was standing in someone's way and beside me was a man dressed as a monk, his face all white, sucking his thumb and touching my hair.... I *screamed* and the whole room of people collapsed laughing including the darn actor :P

Beware they pay people to scare you...lol

Hope your kiddies love it x x x

If you want to see a show, Wicked is exceptionally good, so is phantom of the opera, and the lion king. I don't actually know if they are all showing, but they usually are. I also don't know what else is on at the moment, but I highly recommend Wicked, It is the story about the witches from the Wizard of Oz, and it is amazing.

Thanks for this. My girls love the Theatre. They're going to see War of The World's in June ( £60 a ticket, nightmare! ) might see if they can see Wicked at some point too
