London Underground tickets

Hi all.

Hoping somebody can help me.

How much does a ticket from Victoria to Waterloo cost on the Tube?

And is it worth getting an Oyster card?

Thanks in advance.

I will be interested to hear some of the replys to this. Im heading down to london next month for three days and don't know whether to get a daily travel card or an oyster card. Had a look at various websites but none the wiser

Oyster and contactless are always the cheapest but you need a deposit. If you have a contactless bank card then you can use that instead of oyster and it will cap it so you always pay the cheapest fare.

I'm just reading about contactless now, seems extremely confusing but would be ideal for me. Do I need an Oyster online account for it, or do I just go to the station and tap my bank card on the barrier thing?

No account needed just touch in and out at barriers very straightforward, also works on London buses as well, you will always pay the cheapest fare which will be capped .

Thank you so much for your help. I'm just reading that it can be better to have an online account as I can then get a refund if I get overcharged. I can also see where I have travelled.

Yep you can register and link your contactless card if you want to but its not necessary to travel. Good luck with Victoria Station it gets very busy at peak times !

Thanks! As you can probably tell, I don't travel to London often! And this will mean I get cheaper tickets which is always a good thing!

Make sure you touch in and out with the same card - best to keep it separate from any other contactless cards
