London Underground Travel

I'm staying in buckinghamshire in london and hoping to get around london as well. I'm looking for some help on the prices the underground website is a little confusing.

I will be going with my girlfriend and we are staying for 3 days, hoping to get into london each day always travelling after 11am from zone 8.

I'm staying in the chiltern and latimer area wanting to go around zone 1.

I already have an oyster card and know how to use it, but dont know about the prices and making the best use of my money for travel.

The Info I've found out is that my station is in Zone 8 and some prices:-

----------------Cash Single---Oyster single-----Oyster Day Price Cap
    Zone 1-------£4.00-----------------£5.60
    Zone 1 - 9---£7.00------------£6.00---------------£9.00

    Travelcard---Day-------3 Day
    Zone 1/2-----£5.60-----£18.40
    Zone 1-9-----£16.20

Not sure if the above info is out of date as well....

From looking at it will I be paying a maximum of £9 off peak with oyster price cap..

Cheaper to get a 3 day travel card, £21.20

    Zone 8?

    Didn't even know it existed.

Travel cards are def the easiest way unless you buy a return to Central then get an Oyster for the week for convenience.

p.s. Oyster price cap is not a tariff, it's the maximum you will pay in any single day if you use your oyster card.
