Longleat Safari Park and Disability Rates

Just wondering if anyone has any experience in going to longleat safari park and using the reduced rates for people with disabilities and 1 carer.

We are planning to go later in the year and I have a motobility car because of my health problems and have a blue badge etc. I cannot walk for long, but I dont use a wheelchair.

I am just wondering what they ask for as proof that you are eligible for the discount really and wondering if anyone has had any problems in the past

Dont really ask about discounts, although we probably should, only thing we have had in the past is the CEA card for discount at the cinema. I always think they will question me though because it is not obvious that I have problems (e.g. nothing you can actually see like being in a wheelchair).

They put on buses to go through the actual safari part if you dont want to drive your car through.

I went to west midlands safari park the other month and i just showed my blue badge and they said that i can get 1 carer free. didnt know till i got there and the lady mentioned it when was buying the tickets, got same offer on the rides etc too

    bad news

Longleat's Monkeys confined to barracks Longleat can confirm the … Longleat's Monkeys confined to barracks Longleat can confirm the continued closure to cars of its drive-through Monkey Jungle. After carrying out routine testing of the monkey colony, one single female tested positive for Simian Herpes. The whole group has now been tested and all have proven to be negative bar this one female. Despite this, Longleat has taken the decision to keep the Monkey Jungle closed to drive-through traffic and until further tests on this individual have been undertaken. Whilst the Monkey Jungle is closed, it is confirmed that the rest of Longleat including the Safari Park is open. Visitors will still be able to gain entry into Longleat Safari Park, Longleat House, the Adventure Castle, Longleat Hedge Maze, the Safari Boats and all other Longleat attractions. The Monkey Jungle is only one enclosure within the Safari Park. The monkeys are free ranging within this enclosure and Longleat has taken the decision to continue to close this area for the immediate future. All other enclosures within the Safari Park – Tiger Territory, Lion Country, the East African Reserve, Wallaby Walkthrough, the Big Game Reserve and more are all open as normal. Longleat is working with all relevant professional authorities to try and establish how the positive reading has occurred in a closed negative colony. ]Click here for opening details 2009

hope so! will be driving from leeds and back to visit it! Slightly concerned about my passenger door going through the lion enclosure (somone broke into the car and bent the door, had it bent back but theres a slight (bout 2mm) opening at the top) anyways....I wont be sat there ;-)

Thanks for all of the replies

I have never been questioned about CEA card or anything, but have had the 'looks' on the rare occasion I use a disabled space (usually a normal space the same, or even less, distance away!)

You can save 5% by booking online before you go on the longleat website. Can also use tesco vouchers, but not sure if you would get them in time

Second question (sorry, only just found out about tesco vouchers) - can you buy 1 ticket with tesco vouchers and then the other 2 on the longleat website for the half price. I know some places are funny about having the tesco discount as well

....and dont forget that your ticket is good for a second day return as well. So if you are staying around the area, you can get back in the next day for free. We went around the amusement park the first day, then did the safari the next day, plenty to do both days
