It's slower than a second-hand laptop I bought a year and a half ago for half the money. Keep shopping around, and try hitting Gumtree.

As has been discussed in the thread before this is a good spec and the T3xxx series are decent CPU's. The only downsides with MSI laptops is they are made by 3rd parties so quality depends from range to range (some of the gaming range are very well designed and made). Bang for you buck you will struggle to do much better.

I bought one from Argos .. Decent laptop for £299 64 bit Windows 7 pro as well. Decided to give it to my daughter as I also decided I have plenty laptops / computers already

Asus

Ah so it is! Specs and price are about the same for both.

The Asus has 2 gig of ram soldered in with 1 free slot

Thanks everyone for your input... If anyone can recommend a laptop that is not refurbished. All that it needs to be able to do is internet, email, powerpoint, word, excel..

thats. it really... don't really want to spend more than £300 on it.. (as the last one got red wine poured all over it... It still works just lots of sticky keys and gets very very hot.)

cheers again

cheers
