Looking for a compact camera with good video. (to be financed by flogging Fuji F30)

Have been thinking about getting one on these small flash memory video cameras which are kicking around but feel that I may be better off changing my compact camera to one with better video instead.

I'm in the lucky position of having an immaculate Fuji F30 as my current camera which is probably the only electrical gadget that I've ever bought which has gone up in value since buying (they fetch up to £200 on fleabay second hand - some thing to do with it having a unique CCD ?? its lost on me to be honest).

So looking for a camera for around £150 ish which can take decent video as well as good pics.

Only one thats caught my eye is the Samsung NV24 but that seems to be discontinued in a lot of places so not sure if there are more up to date ones.

Thanks for any help.

The Panasonic FX35 or FX37 are very good compacts (basic difference is that the 35 has a 4x zoom and the 37 a 5x) that also record HD video (720P) at 30fps so may very well fit the bill for you. They are fairly widely available for around your budget. An excellent review of the 35 is here steves-digicams.com/200…tml and I expect that the 37 is pretty much identical in performance although with a longer zoom range which may be of use to you.

Bear in mind that most (all?) compact cameras will not let you change the zoom setting after you start a video recording.

Good point - I'll bear that in mind.
