My 13 yr old is after a gaming pc to record gameplay and make youtube videos. Would something like this be ok or am I best going to a computer shop to have one built? Any advice much appreciated. ebuyer.com/760…748

Is there a specific game he plays a lot? What's your budget? The cheapest way will always be to build it yourself if you feel like you could too.

my partner would be happy to put one together for you (hes been building pcs for 20 years)

if you can let us know your budget and what games etc he plays I can send over a quote

btw that pc you linked is very over priced !

this ones pretty decent, not as good graphics card, but has a better processor (the graphics card is still very good)

Thanks, I'll find out what games he plays and get back to you. This is it - I've no idea! I like to consider myself pretty computer savvy at using computers but not sure that building one when I've never done it before would be my best bet?! I have looked on youtube and it didn't look difficult but I am a complete newbie to it and don't know what to get/where to start!

It's surprisingly easy but of course can be fiddly in places. One thing you could do is buy a motherboard/CPU/RAM combo so it's that's all pre assembled so there's less to do.

If not you could use a website that assembles it for you like computerplanet.co.uk it will be more expensive but not obscenely too. If you need help picking parts let me know.

Based on my 24 years of dabbling with computers in my personal life and as a programmer id say:

The most important thing to consider on a gaming PC is the graphics card GPU. The 1050 GTX is a budget aimed GPU so dont expect anything beyond 1080P gaming but for a 13 year old that is perfectly fine. The AMD CPU is weak but yet again its a budget system so anything Intel is gonna be a lot more pricey. If you can get a 1060 GTX thats even better.

Comes with a older generation graphics card though, but rest of spec is ok (For price).
