    Looking for a job?

    Banned
I've just finished my first year at Uni, and need to get a job to pay off my overdraft. I've tried looking online, but most of the jobs aren't available in the short term or are for placements abroad.

Anyone have any ideas? I would prefer to work from home too, as it would save on travel expenses as I live in quite a rural area.

List skills and what kind of job.

While I was at Uni, I worked in a bar and an off licence.

    snap!

I only need £100 a week to keep us going. Any rich people out there with dirty deeds. Done dirt cheap!?

get down to macs and flip some burgers for a while?

I'd do pretty much anything. Only really want to work 2/3 times a week! Stills include good communicator, well organised and have worked in a firm of solicitors. Never done bar work, so that might put employers off!

That is not a bad shout. Will take a look at their website!

bar job or supermarket job - I did both of these when I was in Uni - the supermarket was the best for the money cos they would give you as many hours as you wanted - i was able to pay off my overdraft, take a holiday, and go back to uni with a bit of cash in the bank, but i did work in the store a LOT which was really depressing

I don't know how you can afford not to work whilst at Uni to be honest - I had to work all 4 years of my degree to make ends meet, and still ended up with a £13k student loan to pay off.

good lad i admire a man who will knuckle down and just get some graft done to pay debt off instead of sat whinging

Good on you but the difference now is shortage of all types of jobs. So many more people looking for work, and taking the bar and shop jobs, so not that many left for students this summer. Good luck. Hopefully you can get some type of farm work.

Bar job might be out of the question, but supermarket is an idea.

You're a lucky man then! I was a mature student when I went back to Uni - only just got by with £3.5k per year loan and working 25 hours a week.

    Good luck getting something.

I worked behind the bar in my second year - trust me, it is not a difficult job in the slightest, and I very much dount any bar would mind taking you on and training you up.
Also, it can be a little crap sometimes, but generally the staff are young and so you can have a good laugh.

Join a recruitment agency...you get jobs soo quick. I've been with 3 different over the past 2 years and they have done wonders when you need a job and quickly
