    Looking for a Laser Printer...help!

    Banned
I am a crafter and produce wedding invitations etc by hand. However technology is overtaking me and I am looking for a laser printer of both black and colour.

I'm not after the absolute best on the market, I need a simple machine which provides good value for money but produces good quality and can make plenty of copies if necessary.

Copier and Scanner built in is a positive and reasonably priced cartrides would be fantastic too.

Can anyone help or recommend a good model?

Remember that a colours laser printers dislike thick paper. Carefully check the specifications, to see what paper weights it supports, before you spend any money.

I am saying this because I assume that you often print on thicker paper types.

Yes certainly, cardstock is a common surface, I didn't know that information-having never had a laser printer. Anything else? x (rep ty)

Wife has a Xerox 6125v_n for card craft but struggles with really thick card.
There is a manual feed slot in it for thicker card but even this has its limits.

    Prints very fast though.
Toner carts are cheap for it from printer-ink-toner.co.uk/(X(…t=1

Replaced the original black toner around 700 page count.
The original toners usually hold less toner though.

Comes with a free set of toner colours too.
You start out with a complete set of toners that come with the printer and then once you get the printer you fill out the pdf form and they send out another 3 colour toners free of charge.
Well pleased with the speed and quality.

Link to old post I created of a printout and the printer printing.

Stay away from the cheaper consumer printers and do spend a good amount of money on the printer and it's warranty package (ie: 3years on-site repair/replacement).

Ideally go into a shop and test the printer model with the relevant paper types you commonly use, to make sure the rollers pick up and feed the paper nicely all the way through.

Today all colour laser printers are single pass (apply all four colours in one pass), but if you look at old 2nd hand ones you might see one which passes the page four times through the printing mechanism to apply all the colours individually.
