    Looking for some ideas

A good friend is moving into her forever home. Unfortunately I live a 6 hours drive away so I will be unable to help on the day however had an idea to make up a "new home" hamper and have it delivered on her moving day. Looking for ideas of what to add, how is best to deliver it and also ideas to put in it for her three year old daughter to try and keep her happy also. Any ideas will be welcome. Thanks in advance

Personally, i would have it delivered the following day. She won't have time to open it on moving day, and it might end up buried amongst piles of other boxes.

A litre bottle of vodka .. Moving is a right pain

yeah good idea but best deliver the day after she moves...give her some ornaments like vase or frames etc n for her daughter gift her something for a new room a princess frame or toy etc

I would personally use Amazon (prime would be fab if you have it?).
Maybe make up a box of items of various handy household things? (toilet rolls, antibacterial wipes, scented candles etc) and something for little un (colouring books and crayons, small figures to play with).

Amazon sell nearly everything So just add it all to the basket and deliver straight to her door.

Hadnt even considered that .. don't really use amazon but might need to start !

    What a lovely idea.
The last thing they'll probably feel like doing is cooking. Why not try to find a nearby restaurant that delivers or a good takeaway and pay for some food for them on moving day and a bottle of wine.. For the youngster, what about a voucher for a local attraction (maybe a play area like Wacky Warehouse etc) it may help her settle in and even make new friends. Or, a photo frame that holds multiple photos so she can put in a photo of you and her family/friends.

Give Fortnum and Mason a call. They're incredibly helpful and can arrange everything for you.

She is moving next door to her mum and dad and back to where we grew up so she is lucky in that way that she knows the area completely ... but the idea of organising takeaway to be delivered sounds good ... we have two dogs that she loves so they would be ideal for a photo frame ... not sure she would want my ugly mug on her bedside table .. don't want her getting nightmares lol

I will have a look at fortnum and mason too ... everyone is really helpful

You are so cute. What a kind gesture Amazon like the other guys have suggested would be a good start as you can order anything and everything. And for the little one, maybe a nice cuddly toy. It's a shame just eat don't do gift vouchers! Unless anyone knows differently? You sound like a lovely friend so I'm sure whatever you go for will be received with thanks

But I said yes of course you can by my Guinea pig to see if my idea works

Hungry House do gift cards. Maybe a box to arrive the day before the move with teabags, sugar, UHT pots, some cleaning bits and pieces(include cleaning sponges and hand wash), loo rolls, tea towels and a candle gift for her, something for the little ones new bedroom and hungry house voucher. Ooh and a bottle of wine, maybe two wine glasses instead of the candle.
