Thank you, do you speak German? I need to make sure it has English subtitles. The meadia dealer one says, 'no info' and I can't see it on the Amazon one??? I appreciate your help.

I don't speak german. I use google language tool to translate.

The chances of it having English subtitles are probably nil.....

What is more important though is that there are 13 episodes in the first series - the dvd you are looking at only contains the first 2 episodes !!!!!! So to buy all of the first series this way is going to be very expensive. Each episode is one dvd - so it is never going to be cheap (13 dvds).

Those discs are dubbed into German (the Germans don't really do subtitles...) but still has the original Swedish soundtrack.

The original Swedish release (Yellowbird) has Swedish, Finnish, Danish and English subtitles although the English subtitles were dropped halfway through the second series. Seems it was a mistake and the discs should never have had English subtitles......

Wow, you know your stuff! I doubt she knows this. Thank you so much.

I emailed the MD of Yellowbird to find out why they had dropped the subtitles.

His words - the dvds should never have had English subtitles (!!!) It was a mistake.

£40 odd sounds ok if it is for all 13 episodes.

How strange! You must be a fan as well as my MiL! I'm not sure if it's for all 13. will have a look now. I thought most dvd's gave the option of subtitles these days.

Just had a quick look on Amazon.co.uk and seems the £40 is for 4 episodes - that is not so cheap....

I bet they will be repeated on BBC4 soon though.

I can just about follow them in Swedish but when it gets "technical" - then I struggle - so the subtitles are handy.
