dont know they seem better than my current account with lloyds, where i get approx 0.00001% on my money:S, over the last 3 years ive gained 1p in interest, and a lot of money goes into it, santanders offers 2% or something

For interest purposes, halifax may be the best for you. As long as you pay in £1k pm you'll get a fiver as a 'reward'. Keep the balance low, and shove any excess in a high interest instant access account. I think citibank did one at 3% above base for a year, obviously it'll drop like a stone after that, so diary it to remember to move it around again. Don't be loyal to anyone, they won't be to you. Get the best deal you can. IIRC Halifax also do a £100 cashback offer if you move your account to them. This might have expired now, and definitely involved a 'move' rather than an entirely 'new' account.

I would rather have zero interest than zero customer service. Seriously, you should check out the horror stories about Santander.

I have worked for a few banks in the past..
Santander have a decent level of customer service unfortunately they are a bit let down by admin.
Lloyds just want to sell you anything and everything. Customer Service comes 2nd to sales.
