Lord of the Rings

What the hell is with this trilogy? Everyone raves about it, and on imdb it seems like most of the reviewers were getting themselves into some euphoric frenzy whilst watching it.

I have just sat through the Two Towers and I found it the most sleep inducing piece of cinema I've ever seen. I really couldnt keep my eyes open. Don't get me wrong- its incredibly well made, an awesome production. But its just so damn tedious. The story is not involving, it all seems a bit silly and theatrical, and everyone talks in the same monotonous way.

I borrowed the 4 disc sets off a friend - and the thought of someone sitting through 12 hours of new zealand fields and pointy ears, 4x12 hours worth of commentaries and watching another 12 hours of extras frankly disturbs me.

Am I missing something?

Yep.

Star Wars, eewwwwwwww

As for LOTR I suppose you just have to be into that whole epic fantasy film, I preffered part 1 to the other 2 parts, have you watched them in order?

The film is probably nothing compared to the film, I read the hobbit before the movies came out so I knew I would most probably like it anyway. Never read the LOTR trilogy though, started it but had to stop as was too busy to concentrate on a book at that point, from what I can remember the book seemed to be quite good though and seemed more promising then the film. Saying that I liked the films though.

fox202020202 thats a really most useful piece of advice there. Next time I will try and concentrate on those aspects of the movie and see if I can relate to those story dynamics.

Kelly- being that my not being able to appreciate LOTR like everyone else is making me feel slightly insecure and outcast, why dont you come round and watch "Return of the King" with me, so we can slag it off and make me feel better.

Kelly - perhaps its because your watching from a strange angle as your icon shows, keep bouncing
