dunno if you can?

A reciept is a proof of purchase?

I think it depends on how you posted them, pretty sure your only covered with certain postal options and not just standard first class.

Did you buy them online, or via debit or credit card in-store, if so you should be able to use any of these.

If you use cash you will have no joy.

Says he sent them, not waiting to receive them.

Yes i can read.

I would guess the receipt is for sending the item, but he has no proof of purcheses for the lost dvds.

And to me it looks like he is attempting to claim off the royal mail, in which case he will need proof of purchase. To prove he had the item. which is what my response is for.

As above with my response unless you paid on a card, you will have a hard time.

If you sent first class then you are covered for £34 (i believe) as long as you have a proof of posting.

If you just have a receipt then its unlikely they will compensate. Got to the royal mail web site and check out their claims policy for missing post

ok will do, cheers

Original Poster

says this, Please remember to enclose your certificate of posting with your claim, if you cannot provide evidence of posting then you may only be entitled to the minimum compensation.

were they a just posting to someone you know or as a sale on here or elsewhere? if it was a sale then give them the link to the thread on the form you fill in. i did similar with a missing ebay item

it was on a for sale item here with tazandsas

give it more time. royal mail wont take your claim until 15 working days have passed so wait til 5th of may. if they havent been recieved by then then put a claim in.
when mine went missing i just said it was an ebay auction & put in the item number. they take there time (about 5 weeks i think) but i did get a refund for the price it went for as well as the cost of postage

I sent some dvds to tazandsaz before and they weren't received...perhaps theres some confusion with the address?

What I did to claim with Royal Mail was to send a copy of the postage receipt (with transaction reference) and a copy of my bank statement showing their payment.

Royal Mail refund up to £36 but do take a long time to process so remember to account for bank holidays etc  My post is running a bit late up here...also some days not getting deliveries til well after lunch while they catch up after Easter!

You need a copy of proof of value....I'm wondering if showing them the cheapest 2nd hand one from a webpage would help?

I don't think they'd just take a receipt as you could have just sent anything you see:thumbsup:

read the fs rules, it may save you a suspension for using hukd to profiteer, although it wont help you in claiming from the royal mail

If this is the case and since tazandsaz was paying on arrival, shouldn't you just apologise for them going missing, put in a claim with Royal Mail and claim back the £2.97 paid for each? You'll also get postage back as long as you include the receipt for postage. If you don't send proof of value they'll probably just send stamps.

Seems the fairest way so you're both not out of pocket?

I think the pay on arrival thing spins from the feedback left by them from a trade previously with roadie....

And as for convenient, could well be, but whos to know? Perhaps there is just a problem with post, perhaps a neighbour taking items as if I remember rightly the flat numbers had letters after them - perhaps going to a instead of b etc? Not sure but not about to go accusing as it caused too many problems last time
