Low cost night out in London - tomorrow! ANY IDEAS?

Found 7th Sep 2009
It's my (our) anniversary tomorrow and I'm hoping to do something interesting/ exciting tomorrow eve, but on a budget!

I've a few ideas of my own but just wondered if any of you savvy moneysavers had experienced anything recently around London that would work well for a good evening out??! - I'm thinking good shows, any decent bands playing, any brilliant (cheap) new restaurants/ bars worth checking out, or just something a bit off the cuff that I perhaps wouldn't think of!

I would sometimes revert to cooking a romantic meal on these types of occasions, but I did that at the weekend - there's only so much of my cooking she can take!

Thanks guys..

think there are some good deals on lastminute.com for shows? Think Grease was going for about £15.

also, a nice walk along the victoria embankment is nice in the evening!

Good start. something to look into.

The comedy store in picadilly circus is good for a cheap night out

Check out Las Iguanas, a brazillian restuarant along the Thames, also one in the O2.
I love going in the Nags Head or Punch & Judy pubs in Covent Garden and watching life go by, as well as the street entertainers.
Happy Anniversary to you, strangely enough it's mine today (18 years !!)

'Low cost' & 'London'???

Good luck.

I understand why there's a perception that everything in London is expensive, but having moved here from the less expensive North just over 3 years ago, i think its a little misguided.

I also had the perception that I'd live a life of skimping and saving while I was here, but that perception couldn't be further from truth. Yes, the temptation is there to spend all your money, because where else in the country is there as much choice as London.. you could do something different every night for years and never get bored. But there's as many cheap options as anywhere else in the country too.

I like the pubs, and Las Iguanas was recommended to me a few weeks ago. Will have a look into that too!

And happy anniversary Humphman... mine's only 7 yrs
