Mac-compatible LCD Monitor...

Trying to get rid of some Christmas cash in the form of a new monitor for a Mac Mini... Unfortunately, despite loads of research, I can't come up with much...

Budget is a maximum of £300, ideally £200 or below. We would like 19"+, again as much as we can get as we have a photography fan in the house! With a Mac Mini we need DVI-D connection, drivers suitable for mac and minimum 1000 x 1000 resolution.

We did have our eyes on some of the Hanns-G screens (but there were compatibility problems) and a Dell screen, which is compatible but has lower specs than the Hanns and is more expensive.

Essentially compatible and as good as possible.

Thanks for your help! I hope to be posting around here more in future!

TBH I use a dell 20" wide screen, one of the newest models and it cost me about £290 but does the job fine, for what you want it would be more then enought. I don't think you would notice the difference too a hanns G one.

also the dell one has inputs for other things such as xbox (i use one of these with my macbook pro)

Thanks for all your help, that's great.

Does anyone know where I can get Dell monitors fairly cheaply or any offer codes on compatible ones???

technically all monitors are mac compatible..example, my macbook can view onto my samsung 19 widescreen tv

Unfortunately, I don't believe that's the case. Like with the Hanns-G one you needed a $100 adaptor and my friend's screen is tainted pink for no apparent reason (works perfectly on Windows)...

Still haven't found anything that states it as compatible besides the Dell one...
 :?

I have just bought a 19" Hanns G and it is fine on my Mac Powerbook. Cost me £129 from Amazon.co.uk now £139 I believe. It doesn't come with a DVI cable, but I just plugged it in using the VGA adaptor that comes with the Mac Powerbook.

Amazon are very good with returns. I would be tempted to buy and then just send it back if it is wrong.

Hi,

check out this link:

also as I sell macs and the lot I will say now that ANY normal PC screen will work fine on any mac (or should do), there should be no need for any adapter and it plugs in fine with a standard dvi cable (which I believe is supplied with the dell oen above)
