Just received my copy of mafia 3 in the morning.

Have to say, it's not as fun as I expected. Recently re played mafia 2 last week (my second time completing it now ) and mafia 2 was more fun and story line was good

Played an hour of mafia 3. Hopefully the game gets better

I'm about an hour into it and really enjoying it. Think the graphics, music and dialogue are excellent. Loving the cut away scenes with the Father.

I've played it for about 5 hours and I think it is very good but it is very GTA'ish.
The dialogue & acting is very good....all seems top notch and very polished.

Controls are better than GTA (imo) and driving is fun.

And damn, the soundtrack is brilliant. Plus I like the little snippets from history on the radio.

Cops are annoying though, I had about 8 cars following me at one point.

My metacritic guesstimate is 84

Some games, at that point, you're 50% through them.

You can sometimes judge a game without playing it; "No Man's Sky", for instance.

Until you have to pay for dlc's X)

I said So far. Most games I enjoy,I usually have fun from the start. Will be home later on and carry on. Hopefully it gets better.

I've been a huge fan of mafia, godfather related games. Own them all on Xbox and enjoyed watching Italian gangster related movies.

I may have had too high expectations for mafia 3

U think 84 after a embargo? It will most likely be 70-75 max.

I played it for like 8 hours yesterday.

Definitely gets repetitive since unique missions are few and far between. I was loving it for a while and I still wanna push to this next part of the story, but cause $40000 damage for the 15th time doing the same stuff over and over is just a grind.

My experience has probably been tainted because I played it so much in one sitting though. If I was only dipping in and out I'm sure they grindy tasks wouldn't bother me.

An hour in and judging it haha, give it more time

I'm unsure why people are defending the whole "you've only played it an hour, you can't have an opinion."

I remember back in the day we would get demo disks with a level, or if lucky 2 levels of a game that would last less than 10minutes.

This was enough to get an opinion on a game if it's worth purchasing or not.

My last purchase was the new Deus Ex, after 2 hours I was slightly bored. Tried for a further 4 or so hours and my opinion didn't change.

Games should be good from the get go. They shouldn't be a drag in hope they get better. Gameplay is where it's usually at to keep someone entertained.

Unsure? Well look at the op's comment above now... changed his mind after giving the game more time. Nothing should be judged so early, some of the best films/books made are slow starters so why can't games be the same.

I'm loving the game. Gritty violence and an amazing soundtrack.

Yeah I had seen his comment, it works in some cases. But not all, my attempt with deus ex, I was told the same. Judging it to quickly, and it was still boring.

I guess it's really down to the player and if the game is "meh" "boredom" or down right "a crap experience."

Some games can turn around, others are the same throughout.

DEUS EX was terrible. Just started to get interesting and it ended.

When I first played bully scholarship edition. I played like 2 hours of it back in 2008. Hated it and found it boring. A year later I re started it and went for gamerscore. Have to say it was probably the most fun single player game I played to this day. Completed it 100% 3 times in the last 6 years.

Yh I understand some games take a while to kick in. I judge games too fast sometimes. But some games like two worlds which was all round awful (even though I completed it fully)

I really enjoyed Deus Ex Revs, but this new one I just couldn't get into it. It felt like it relayed on the hype of the "complete any level how you want" and it just felt a bit lifeless else where.

I'm the worst for that, there has been times I buy a game, play it, tell myself I'm unsure how I feel, then the more I think about it. I end up telling myself I dislike the game, it's time to sell it.
This past year was Deus Ex Mankind Divided, Batman Arkham City and there's another, but I've forgotten the title.

There's been a few times, I'll try a game out, dislike it, or feel unsure, try it a bit more and it'll turn into a good title. But most of the time, my interest swiftly moves on. I can't recall the last time I've sat through a game and played hundreds of hours into it. I have a pile of half completed games. >.<

My shorted played game before returning, or reselling was 8 minutes. Tony Hawks Project 8 for Xbox original. The CD case images weren't of the game shown. Loaded it up, played 1 level, repackaged, took it back to Game, and they offered me half what I paid because I removed their security tags. Was told I could keep the game a further week before the price would even consider changing. I walked out with half my money.

I loved project 8. Completed it like twice. Is such a fun game if you get into it. Hated the skate series.

On the xbox 360 it's a good game, on the original Xbox, it's not even questionable. It's bad.

Yeah mafia looks really violent which is cool as it fits, I found the new deus ex rather dull compared to the older games which is a massive shame as I was looking forward to it for a good many years.
