Majorca Resort Recommendation

Evening all..

I've managed to find some cheap flights to Palma from Edinburgh at the end of March and am looking to spend a couple of days there chilling out.

I've been to Majorca before and stayed in the party resorts but I'm looking for something a bit quieter - can anyone recommend a nice resort with a bit of character suitable for a solo traveller?

Puerto Pollensa is fantastic. Not too big, no pub crawls, not many big hotels, loads of restaurants for a woman on her own not to feel out of place. Long, long beaches. It'll be cold in March but the likes of the sis pins hotel will be full of pensioners from scotland (cos it used to be a globespan hotel!).

i stayed in s'illot last time i went i think its the continuation of sa coma (?) the beach was fab and lots to do. I thought pollensa was for olds mainly?

In March much of the island will be closed, so forget about the resorts on the far side of the island. In fact anywhere you go will be quiet in March - even Magaluf. I would recommend Soller, this is where i went to relax when i was living on the island. No night-life to speak of, just a few bars. Plenty of walks in the country side. If that is too quiet for you, then what about Palma itself? always stuff going on in the city, and loads of accommodation.

I'd have thought to stay in Palma too, less travelling if only there for a couple of days and most likely to be the busiest place with stuff to do.

Thanks, I'll take a look at Palma and Soller as they seem closest to the airport

We have been going to Cala Millor/Cala Bona year in year out for the last 12 years....we all love it, however I would say end of March most places will be closed as the season doesn't really start till mid-end May. Palma would probably be your better bet....plenty to do, plenty to see without having to go too far
