Make calls to 0800/0808 numbers from your mobile

Found 15th Nov 2015
Are you fed up with calling expensive 0800 and 0808 numbers from your mobile?

"0800Buster lets you call these numbers using your mobile's inclusive minutes, by providing you with a UK number to dial."

The site gives you an 0333 number to call and you use your mobile minutes to call companies that are using 0500, 0800 and 0808 numbers.

These numbers are free on all networks now anyway
Just signs up and posts a **** site? 100% spam.

These are sort of companies who probably record every call and you know what happens next.

Seems legit.
While mobile providers were charging anything up to 41p per minute for calls to 0800 and 0808 numbers, this was a useful service and saved people a lot of money.

Things have moved on. Calls to 0800 and 0808 numbers are free from landlines and, since 1 July 2015, they are also free from all mobile phones. As such, and as far as 0800 and 0808 numbers go, there would no longer seem to be a need for this service to exist.

The service also works for 0500 numbers. These calls are not free from mobile phones. Ofcom is withdrawing the 0500 range on 3 June 2017. All users of these numbers have until that date to move to the matching 0808 5 number or to some other number of their choosing. Until that time, this service may still be useful.

Non-geographic numbers starting 08 and 09 cannot usually be called from abroad. This service may be useful for contacting organisations who use 0500, 0800 and 0808 numbers but which do not connect when called from outside the UK. The international call to the 03 number should cost a similar amount as making a call to an 01 or 02 number.
