Make your print cartriges last longer

I have just been sent this info.

I haven't yet tried this myself as I am not yet running out of ink.

Maybe someone can test to see if it works. It could be a useful money saving tip.

surely if the inks run out its run out?

How does that even make sense?

If the printer is printing with lines missing etc... what does that have to do with how much ink the memory thinks there is?

I guess it would make sense on those printers that don't allow you to print when 'it' thinks the ink has run out.

What this is suggesting though is that the cartridge may still have ink in it. But the sensor that tells the printer to stop printing may be over sensitive and the cartridge may still have ink.

I ran out of toothpaste and used this trick to gain half tube..

Yeah but from his own video, he shows a printed page from low ink cartridge... surely if the printer 'thinks' there is low ink, it doesn't just start to print with striations etc...

So what he shows in his video was obviously pre-planned and fake!

It's true the the Chip tells porkies.

I am not running out of ink myself so I was unable to test. But if you are and have a paper clip handy it may allow you to print for a while longer.
Try it or dont try it, but no need to cry about it. oO

I'm bored... need to cry about something.

Yes, this works - I've done it myself.

My printer "ran out of ink" and the page I printed prior to the message coming up was perfect - no sign of the ink running out. Found a link on Google which described a method similar to the one used in that Youtube video. Took me two attempts but the second time, the cartridges which previously refused to print anything started working.

It seems the printer reports its out of ink even though there's still a bit in there. This method tricks the printer into thinking the cartridge is full, so it happily carries on printing. Soon enough, it'll fully ran out of ink and then at that point you'll have to get a replacement.
