There are Hundreds upon Hundreds of ways

I do. I originally started off with a £20 note on ebay, and now I generate extra cash through buying and selling and this leaves me with enough money that I don't even need to touch my work salary. The only one downside is that you need to put in extra effort in the evenings and weekends. But I'm willing to do this as I find it fun and fruitful.

Hmm, i've been trawling wholesale forums and sites etc, and find a few products that would be suitable to me, but i dont have the time or money to make my own website and advertise it, so the only other option that i can think of is eBay, and this just eats into your profits through eBay fees and paypal fees. Any suggestions?

I think you are not a big trader to start with a business e-commerce site (or website to sell), but ebay is a means of networking and to test the market with products. True that ebay does eat into profits but the quantity you sell will give you profit.

I found that people who purchased products off me where willing to buy bulk amount off me (away from ebay), which has worked. My network of people who I can sell to has increased alot.

Believe me, start on ebay and give it at least 4 to 6 months of selling then you will know which avenue to take, either contine on ebay or open your own website or even do both.

one more thing, statistics are key, they make the world go around. Monitor every single penny and never loose count of even one penny.

Honestly this just accross as; I'm not looking to put in time/ effort/money but I'd like some free cash please.
There is no quick easy way to make money; if there was we'd all be doing it. :whistling:
If by some miracle someone has found an easy way to make cash such as an arbitrage on the futures they certainly wont share it online as it would simply kill it.

thats not i was saying at all, i meant that i don't have the computering knowledge to build my own website, and i've always thought that it cost a few hundred if not more to get a decent website up and running and sustainable, really the idea of this post was to see if anyone here was having tru success through selling on ebay.
but thanks for the reply

This is 101% true. Its never easy and never will be. It based on how dedicated you are. I purchased some prodcuts at large quantity when I newly started but was not selling as I hoped, so I had to bust my backside and open a stall sundays (in the cold and rain) to get rid of them.

You will learn but you have to work hard.

Lol, nice omission of "per month".
"ekmPowershop enables you to accept credit cards online. You can manually process the cards using your existing PDQ Terminal (if you have one) and/or link up with a payment processor and automatically process credit card payments. "

Or he could sell 8 items for £20 on eBay, receive the funds via Paypal and pay more than an entire shopping solution.

Indeed; as I said it isn't easy. £20, plus processing fees plus website advertisement, domain name costs, and all the rest of it will mean he will need to be selling several hundred via ebay; with a £200 starting capital it isn't worth the outlay.

I dont think you always need a large amount of money to start a business.

I started out with less than £50 initial outlay and have built up from that to be really successful within just a few weeks.

Do you have any talents or skills that you could use to start your business ? ie are you good at design or making things?

You can start very small then just work up to being able to buy larger amounts of stock (and getting a bigger discount) as you sell more & more.

Keep you eyes for out for good deals and sales - for example we bought 50 iggle piggle costumes from tesco for £3.50 a while back and now can sell them for £11.99 on the run up to halloween.
