I'm after getting my first tools to start doing some diy in the house I want decent stuff that will last though.

anybody know of any decent deals on makita gear? mainly after just a combi for now but would buy a twin set if price was good.

I honestly wouldn’t spend loads on tradesmen tools to put up some shelves.
I see a lot of tradesmen using the Dewalt or Stanley drills - they seem to be more solid than the Bosche one I have.

There is a Makikita with two 1.3ah batteries at B&Q for £100 at the moment here

I find that the Bosche is adequate for around the house - although I use a corded SDS drill for the hammer function, it goes through concrete like butter, the cordless is rubbish at the hammer function.

*Edit: This Stanley Fatmax deal looks good - brushless and 2 2ah batteries for £105
