Manchester City agree deal for David Silva

Manchester City ar eset to sign Spanish international winger David Silva from Valencia for an undisclosed fee.

City have agreed a five-year deal with the 24-year-old, who will complete a medical and sign for the club once his involvement in the World Cup is over.

He said: "The Premier League is one of the best competitions in the world and I want to bring success to City.

"They are a club with a great future with fantastic players. I want to be an important player in City's history."

Silva is City's second major signing of the summer, following the capture of Hamburg's German international defender Jerome Boateng.

    Funny how money talks.

another fringe player that will make little or no difference to their current squad.

another lifelong city fan signs for the club he's supported since a boy no doubt.

Rumoured to have paid somewhere between £21m - £25m

A good player on his day, but missing two of the most important qualities needed to be a big hit in the Premier League - pace and power. His decision making is also questionable (and I don't just mean leaving a Champions League club for Man City )

5 year deal? when will these mug teams cop themselves on to the fact that the players are sigining for massive pay deals they will not get anywhere else, why not insist on a 2 year deal that rolls on. He may be a complete flop and after a season or two lose interest and then have to be paid millions to leave just like Robhino.

I can't see Robhino playing for City again, ever. Why would he, he left under a cloud and nothing has changed with his situation.

Do you really think he's that a good a signing though? Personally, I think Bellamy is a better option. And where does this leave your bid for Milner??

Apparently the rumour mill suggests a double swoop for Milner and Agbonlahor for £44 million.....kerching.

milner .. not sure if thats an option

Bellamy will be at City this next season but as we know due to injury's I think he will be used sparingly but effectively.. Pity the England team didnt have half his desire when he plays , and perhaps they might be still over in SA

im not saying anything whatsoever......hes a player in his own right and until he plays here im not daft enough to start slating him:) or predicting if he will or wont score more goals than the players mentioned(compared)........

who's slating him, being a fringe player for the 5th best team in england can't be that bad, it got wright phillips to the world cup.
