Lowry is nowhere near the Mchester City Centre.

One tip I used recently, loads of hotel sites supposedly offering discounts. Some appear to be less but then you find the finer details - its a room only rate and bfast not included...

The normal rate at the hotel was £105 without bfast £125 with. The websites said £95 with bfast. Phoned the hotel and asked them if they would match it to £75 all in and they agreed. Full bfast sauna pool etc for 3 of us, total price.

Putting the new Hilton aside, the best hotel I have stayed in is the Radisson Edwardian on Peter Street. First official 5-Star in Manchester, and is absolutely brilliant!

Is closer to the 'centre' than Hilton, but only by about a 5 minute walk! However, if you don't stay at Hilton, it is still worth a visit to go to the Sky Bar!

A good site to use is www.tripadvisor.co.uk. Type in the name of the hotel and it will come up with loads of honest reviews from people who have stayed there. We had a fantastic room in the Palace Hotel but some of the write ups were well dodgy!

lowry hotel is only 8mins from city centre actually
and it is an amazing hotel its at the back of house of fraser!

haggle at the midland, you'll be amazed.
