Bought some bra's off ebay, all m&s all described as brand new and tagged which indeed they are only on the size/wash care labels is a dark black "S" that looks like it has been ink stamped on there, does this mean they were sale items or are they seconds?

I think it means they are sale items, not 100% sure tho:thumbsup:

I very rarely shop in m&s only if I need new undies but decided it was far cheaper buying em all off ebay this time round and it saved me battling to find a parking space in this god forsaken town!
I do hope theyre not seconds!

They may be seconds....as it would only take me seconds to take them off! lol

Red dot or a stripe drawn on the label normally indicates a sale item - … Red dot or a stripe drawn on the label normally indicates a sale item - as sometimes people buy stuff in the sale then try to claim they bought it full price. A black stamp with an S in a circle can be used for soiled and damaged items, again on the label, but the item should be marked in some way to indicate a fault.(from MSE)why not contact the seller and ask them....

I have but they havent replied:?
Not that it bothers me if they are sale or sample etc items, theyre nice BUT surely a business seller should indicate in the description if they are selling items that are "seconds" or "shop soiled"?

I've returned bra's to them before and got a refund

I always thought "seconds" meant that there was a fault with them of some sort (ie not first grade quality) - I didn't think it meant returned items that were resold???

i bought a bra and knickers from there a few weeks ago and the bra was too small so i returned it not expecting them to return the knickers (unworn obviously!) but she did! Eww, not being funny but i could of paraded around in my living room in them for all she knew! I thought the policy for all places was not to refund undergarments :?

eeeewwwwww I didnt think they took returns on knickers, bras are a lil different i guess,or are they??:?

Yep they definately do take knicks back, i suppose that's what the hygeine strip is for. My hubby has bought me (unsuitable) sets from there before and i've taken them back for exchange.

The next staff shop marks all of thier stuff in a similar way to stop people buying stuff from the staff shop then taking it back to the stores for a full refund. A black permanent marker mark on the label means it's come from the staff shop.

good idea

i work for marks and spencers the s is for soiled or damaged these items are not seconds they r sent in all perfect quality stock however somehow have been damaged or solied. also sometimes for last few clearance lines they put s on for soil and damage sell them for £1 each is items are marked with a s they are non returnable this is policy and is always displayed and told to the customer purchasing items.
did you plan to bring them back to m and s and see what you got for them hmmmm fortunatley we have cracked down on this ......................................................................

hahahaha

there is a different way to marking soiled and damaged compared to sale items as i said i work there even in my store they always say you cant return if s on label even though i know that and i work on that floor.
