Massive, massive long shot... ATHERSTONE to BIRMINGHAM?

I really doubt this will apply to anyone (although you never know!) but it's worth a go!
I'm looking to move to or near Atherstone and I work in Birmingham. Does anyone do this journey at rush hour and how long does it take? Google maps states around 20 miles and 30-40 minutes but obviously that doesn't take into account traffic! Do you go the M6 route, or do you take the back roads?
    Thanks!

    A5 - A38 I'd have thought....much easier than the M6 at rush hour.

Or you could go A5 to Tamworth, then M42 and into Brum that way.

It takes me between 7-10 minutes to drive to work depending on traffic.

    Hope this helps.

    Thats in Watford btw.

    Why don't you walk it?

    Lazy bones!

Go for the train, nightmare getting into birmingham at rush hour, the train services are quite good.

Just off the A38 as you get into town, and at rush hour.

How long would that take? Bearing in mind the traffic?

I would say an hour then. All ways are busy whether you take the M42 and M6 or the back roads. On a bad day you are probably looking at well. over an hour. Best bet is to actually do it one morning, that will make up your mind. Have a few friends in Atherstone but they are only coming into North East Brum out of rush hour so isn't too bad then.

well, us normal people who do actually work at work can't be bothered to walk there and walk back especially after a hard day/night. you probably wouldn't understand that as walking to the dole office, signing on and walking back once a week isn't the same

    I love my fortnightly walk.

If it is raining I get a taxi

takes me just under 15 mins to walk to work.

    That's not in Birmingham though

My husband travels from to Tamworth to Birmingham every day in rush hour and it takes around 45 - 60 mins, non rush hour is around 20 - 25 mins
