Does anyone here sleep on the floor, if so can they recommend a mat or something similar for it? I've been sleeping on a duvet on a carpet floor for a while but am getting a bit of back ache. Any recommendations?

Not to be cheeky but have you not got a bed or sofa?
A cheap alternative would be an air bed, argos always have them on offer, or a friend/family member might have one for you

Look on Gumtree there is normally people giving away mattresses, they may not be the best but must be better than sleeping on the floor.

I got rid of the bed as the mattress was awful and my room is tiny and I could do with the extra space. The floor is certainly more comfortable than the mattress which is good.
I'd sleep on the sofa but my housemate already has that.

loads of different options. listed some u can google

cotton futon
egg crate mat
thai Bed
Thermarest
Inflating Mat Trek

Sleeping on the floor isn't so bad (certainly better than a bad mattress). I'm just not sure if I just need to get used to it or should get a yoga mat or something similar.

Thanks for those, I'll take a look.

You want a memory foam mattress. You can get sleep over / roll up types or just a standard thicker and better signal one. They start from £20 going up to £50 for a new one on ebay

Japanese mattress/futon are supposed to be brilliant and far better then the standard western futons.

Hi, not sure of your budget, or if they're suitable for long term use, but here's a couple of options from go outdoors.

this is £4.99 but they increase in value and quality

How about a hammock?

As previously mentioned - Futon can fold into a relatively small space and very very comfortable.

Why not have a blow up mattress and stick it to your ceiling when you wake up? Doesn't take up may space and are relatively comfy:) cost less than a tenner

You Need to take some yoga classes if you have aches and pains from sleeping on the floor. What is the world coming to? I recommend you buy yourself a can of man-up!
