May Bank Holiday - Amsterdam/Keukonhoff Tulips tour !

Found 22nd Feb 2018

We (4 adults, 2 kids) are planning a trip to Amsterdam/Keukonhoff during May Bank holiday.
Can you give some tips & advice how to plan 3N 4D trip ?
where to stay , things to do etc?
should we drive from Amsterdam or book transport ?
We are planning to take Lon - Amsterdam Eurostar.

Any suggestion would be very helpful.

Thanks a lot

Hi. Double check if it's still season for tulips. I wanted to go last year and was told the best time to go is beginning or middle of April

Thai restaurant - The Bird. You get to walk through the Red Light district as a side show. Book in advance.
Italian restaurant - Casa di David on Singel. Definitely book in advance
Sushi bar at the WTC (Zud)

> Keukenhof is beautiful. But exposed.
> Bloemenmarkt/FlowerMarket on Singel
> Van Gogh museum is good (and warm)
> Reichsmuseum is amazing but an acquired taste
> Buy a ticket on the canal bus instead of canal tour
> Leidseplein for street artists etc
> Artis zoo if the weather is good
> Merchants house. Book in advance
> Anne Frank House is worth the trip but do something after to cheer yourself up. Its depressing (the house and the show/shop after). Book in advance

Wrap up warm. Its cold at the best of times. Plan for indoor and outdoor activities according to the forecast
Walking in the parks is nice of the weather is warm.

HANG ON TO YOUR WALLETS ETC. Thieves are everywhere

The metro is good but stinks if weed a lot of the time. Not nice weed either (if you know what I mean)

Enjoy the dutch. They are very direct but fun.
